Programme: E001 SME Development Programme in Entrepreneurship and New Venture Creation |
Objectives: The main objectives of the programme are to equip those with an entrepreneurial wish to become “job creators” rather that “job seekers”. Participants will be taught methods of applying creativity and innovation in starting a new business or within an existing business. They’ll also be equipped with skills to implement business essentials in running a successful business, ways to manage their customers and skills in managing people and how to lead them.

Structure: The programme consists of 20 1-day modules. The programme runs over a period of 5 months with one module per week (20 days)(Saturdays).

Entrance requirements:
Participants will be selected on the basis of their entrepreneurial interest and self-employment status. Priority will be given to those that enrol early.

Assessment: Assignments and Business plans will be evaluated for those qualifying for the GBSE Certificate.
|
Accreditation: Students will receive a certificate of attendance for each module and those completing all modules will receive a GBSE “Certificate of Successful Completion”.
|

Programme: E003 Introduction to Computers |
Objectives: This internationally recognised programme has been designed for new comers to computers and can be done in modules with each module earning the successful student a “stamp” in his/her passport. The course will be conducted in the GBSE Computer School’s Lab at the Campus.

Structure: Class room and self study modules. 5 days (8 hours/day) contact teaching.

Programme: E004 Introduction to Accounting and Book Keeping (Supported by Pastel) |
Objectives: The main objectives of the programme are to equip those with basic accounting concepts and techniques that will provide a better understanding of accounting principles. Participants will be taught how to process Receipts and payments, enter records in an analysed cash book for both cash and bank entries, Produce quotations and invoices, Reconcile supplier’s statements and prepare a bank reconciliation statements.

Personal and Self Development |
Objectives: It is a personal inward journey for each of the participants enabling them to take time, to take stock of what they have achieved and, more importantly, who they are and what they would like to spend the rest of their lives achieving or becoming. We use a simple process to encourage the development of a challenging personal plan committed to paper. Each person takes responsibility for his or her own plan and for generating their own personal energy on an ongoing basis.

Programme: S002
Practical Self Defence |
Objectives: The training is practical and 'hands-on' and students are taught to use their natural weapons (fingers, palm, elbow, knees and feet) to eliminate the attacker by destroying their most vulnerable parts (eyes, nose (filthrum), throat and groin). The short theoretical overview covers the psychological, cognitive and physical dimensions. By developing these three dimensions, the individual achieves an effective ability in self defence. The legal aspects are also covered.

Structure: 2 half day contact teaching and practical exercising (9hrs), including an examination (1hr)

Content: (Modules)
By the end of this training course the delegate will be able to:
- Identify attacker's most vulnerable parts
- Maintain good balance and defensive position, not confrontational
- Know and apply the 10 golden rules
- Evaluate dangerous situations and act correctly
- Attack a man-size self defence dummy and use natural weapons effectively
- Eliminate attacker by using element of surprise with accuracy, speed and impact
- Release from strong holds
- Correct action during hijack, armed robbery and knife attack
- Subject identification
- Emergency plan and code words for family protection
- Use of improvised weapons
- Role play and discussion of case studies
